This fortification is located on a hill almost on the outskirts of Blanes.

It gets its name from the hermitage that is located at the foot of the castle. At the top of the hill ithere is the master tower, with more than 15 meters high and 7.25 meters in diameter, the walls are quite irregular and range between 95 and 120 centimeters thick, it has only one access door; its base was raised and bordered by a moat.

The tower is surrounded by a rectangular walled enclosure, but which is cracked on the west side.

The first time it was mentioned was in 1002, when it was owned by the Viscounts of Cabrera.
