Town Hall - ‘Casa de la Villa’
Located next to the seafront promenade and constructed in a combination of modern and old styles, it will surely pique your interest.
Lloret de Mar’s town hall conserves the area’s ‘Indiano’ essence and presides over Passeig Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer, beside the sea.
The building was constructed in 1872 by architects Marí Sureda and Félix de Azúa and features a neoclassical style. It was built during the town’s ‘Indiano’ period beside the former site of Lloret de Mar’s shipyards, where ships were constructed to transport the town’s inhabitants to the Americas.
You can identify the building through its architectural features endemic to the period. Above the clock, you can see one of the few remaining coats of arms of King Amadeo of Savoy.
Be sure to look out for its wrought-iron bell tower, complementing a clock installed by Isidre Bofill of Barcelona.
