Pabordia Nova - Can Marlés

Pabordia Nova - Can Marlés

Exempt building, popular architecture.

It is one of the most interesting houses in Lloret due to the fact that its structure, from the 16th century, has remained almost unchanged to this day. With a rectangular plan and a gable roof, it had three facades, all of them open with straight window windows framed in stone. The portal is made with large dowels.

On the key there are several anagrams and the date 1585. It was the pabordia or residence of the administrator of the seat of Girona, replacing an earlier building, located in the current Plaça d'Espanya.

Looking at photographs from 1982 and today, one perceives that the building has not experienced any drastic or significant changes structurally and formally, but is absolutely the same. The only superficial changes that have affected the face of the building such as the replacement of the old roof with a new one and the sanitation of part of the plastering of some facades.
