Osor

Osor

Sanctuary of Mare de Déu del Coll

The urban center of Osor consists of cobbled streets, alleys and squares full of history, modernity and baroque from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

We see this architectural legacy in the house of Can Roure, with a Gothic window and a vaulted portal, Can Margarits, with a conopial arch window, and Can Casamitjana, one of the few buildings that still survive with a wooden balcony.

The medieval bridges, which connect the town of Osor on one side and the other, should be highlighted: the Can Vidal bridge and the Old Romanesque-style, cobbled bridge, which passes over the Osor stream and which is one of the most emblematic and photographed points of the town.

Another landmark of the town is the parish church of Sant Pere, from 922. The southern arm and a window are preserved from the old building, in the medieval Romanesque style. The current building responds to the Baroque, with a rectangular structure, a central nave and four chapels. From the outside, the facade with a lowered arch door, two bull's eyes and the bell tower, which crowns the building, stand out.
